Things to Avoid

As important as it is to know what treatments cure acne, you should be aware of what habits to avoid. Here I'll be listing some of the acne pitfalls that many people accidentally contribute to. I was making a ton of these mistakes before I finally took natural acne control.

Stay away from soda and sugary junk food.
Sugary soda and junk food is a quick way to bring on acne. The sugar spikes hormonal levels and this results in acne flare-ups.

Clean your glasses
Bacteria and oil can rub off onto your glasses and in turn spread to other parts of your face. Clean the frame of your glasses frequently to avoid this.

Don't touch existing pimples
Your fingers have oil and bacteria on them. By touching or poking around at existing acne, you can spread Sebum to other pores or further irritate the existing pimples. Unless you're properly popping the pimple, leave it alone.

Keep your hair out of your face
Even if you don't have oily hair, your hair naturally has oils in it. These can contribute to clogged pores.

Don't use oil-based makeup or moisterizers
Fortunately most products keep this in mind and it's very easy to find a oil-free moisterizer or makeup product.

Don't wash your face more than 2 times a day
Overwashing will irritate your skin and cause further breakouts

Don't wear your makeup to sleep
I was guilty of this one all throughout college and it didn't take long to figure out it was a major trigger for my acne.
